🎹 Week 3: How to Keep the Excitement Going

Welcome to Week 3 of your musical journey!
This is a big turning point—by now, your student is settling into the rhythm of lessons. But it’s also the stage when some families experience a little drop in energy or motivation.
The good news? That’s completely normal. And we’re here to help!

💡 Tips to Keep Things Fun at Home

Here are a few ways you can keep music joyful and engaging:
  • Let them teach you something!
Students love being the expert. Ask them to show you a note, a rhythm, or a song they learned.
  • Celebrate small wins.
“I saw how quickly you remembered that song—great job!” goes a long way.
  • Play games with practice.
Use a timer for a “5-minute piano challenge,” or let them earn a sticker or point for each song played.
  • Ask us for something fun.
We can send your student a just-for-fun piece or musical game tailored to their level.

🎯 Why This Dip Is a Good Sign

Hitting a plateau or feeling resistance is actually a sign of
real learning. Students are beginning to build skills that require a little more focus—and that’s where growth happens.
If your student feels frustrated, discouraged, or even “bored,” it’s not a red flag—it’s part of the process. And it’s temporary.
